Watercolour on Paper (1932). ‘When I am visiting people' [writes Hilder] 'the drawings I bring back are likely to be interiors. When I am on the edge of the sea, they are likely to be random scenes of messing about in boats, with all the clobber and untidiness familiar to boating people’.  

And despite ‘clobber and untidiness’ this is very much a winsome scene: the craft at rest before adventures new…
